I wonder if anyone is going to download that remix from iTunes

You know what? LEAVE BRITNEY ALONNNEEEE!!! PLEEASSSEEE!!!111 *weeps* SHE’S BEEN THROUGH A HARD TIME AS IT IS YOU BASTARDS, AND YOU CAN’T STOP BEING MEAN TO HER! LEAVE HER ALONNNNNNEEEE!!!!!11

Ahem. While I’m no Chris Crocker1, I’m getting a little tired of opening FireFox each day to see numerous (well, one constant) article on how Britney Spears lip-synched on all her recent shows, including at the X Factor on Sunday ZOMG NO WAY.

Puhlease. This is no big deal. Performing with playback is pretty common on shows on TV and at award ceremonies – I’ve seen a lot of artists choose to do it. Perhaps on the X Factor, and in the UK, it’s a little unusual, but it’s certainly not that much of a big deal. It’s been done before (haha, those are not in the UK), and usually it’s given away by the harmonies. I bet half the time you’ve watched people perform on shows or at awards ceremonies they’re really lip-synching to the track, and you just don’t notice because there aren’t any harmonies. In fact, the only way you can tell when they’re actually singing is if they take a breath in an unusual place, or hit a wrong note or two. Performing as it’s recorded is virtually impossible – and so if you can’t sing your best for a live performance, it’s certainly going to be the less embarrassing option.

I for one, think Britney did a really good job on Womanizer on Sunday. Considering she was running around the place all the time to a crazy routine, you could hardly expect her to sing the song very well at all in reality, so she did well getting all the words in the right place. I hardly noticed the lip-synching.

Yeah, I’m on your side right now, Brit. I just bought your perfume too. It’s really nice.

  1. I know you know who The Cocker is, this is the remix I was talking about in the title []

People are still talking about Britney? :P

Well she really can’t win. If she lipsynchs, she can dance and perform properly. If she sings properly, she has to stay pretty much motionless and not dance around. Either way, people are going to be giving her shit.

I don’t care much for Britney. Hell, I don’t like her at all. That’s the reason why I don’t watch anything that has her in it, so I don’t have anything to complain about. Seriously, if people are hating, they should stop looking, right? LOL.

Lip syncing is normal; I don’t see anything wrong with it, not unless people paid for a live concert and got pre-recorded tracks in return. I know a lot of people who can sing and dance well at the same time, but not all people have the talent and stamina for it, so…*shrugs* Some people haven’t got anything better to do, so don’t mind them who talk badly about her. ;)

I hate Britney. ^_^ Well, not personally, but really, I couldn’t care less about her. Some of her old stuff’s catchy, but her new stuff has gone in the direction I hate. So meh. She can lip-synch if she wishes, just as long as I don’t have to listen to her material. =P In all fairness, I adore her guts to carry on even though she’s made a fool of herself multiple times in the last decade.

Good ol’ Chris Crocker. <3 I remember when Scott Mills on radio 1 kept playing clips of him doing the ‘LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!’ thing. Good times.

Aimee’s last blog post..I’m a really bad person
