This is going to be a bit of a catching-up, picture-laden post on life, the universe, and un-answered questions. Tomorrow: I shall embark upon revision for my AS’s (will still be blogging though).
Firstly, a lot of you wondered about the situation in this photo, which was taken when my youth group went up to London to play “real life” Monopoly. The person you see getting arrested is Jamie. You would probably understand what he’s like if I told you that his team was re-named “Jamie, NO!” (he’s the sort of person who, when told to stay away from G20 protesters because they are tree-huggers and anti-capitalists, and therefore would not appreciate us playing Monopoly of all things, would then run towards them. Probably shouting… well, inappropriate things).
His group originally named themselves The Daleks. No, I don’t know why, but I appreciated the Doctor Who reference anyway (and replied to their “we’re gonna EXTERMINATE you” texts with “DELETE! DELETE!”). At some point whilst in London, they saw and subsequently bought an inflatable Dalek to carry around with them (yes this is all going to explain why he was arrested). This of course attracted a lot of attention, one person being a policeman who wanted to have a photo with the Dalek. They got chatting and he then offered to have a few photos taken with them, one of which involved Jamie getting mock arrested. So no, he wasn’t actually arrested.
Secondly, I was shocked that none of you recognised the first lines of most of the books on my top shelf. Most of these I regard as childhood classics, and was sure that it was far too easy. The ones I listed can be seen below.
Left to right (skipping a couple), and in order of first lines is: Robinson Crusoe (abridged); Heidi, which my friend Vicky got; The Family at One End Street; The Lord of the Rings complete set, making The Fellowship of the Ring the first one, Jordan got this; My Family and other Animals; Swallows and Amazons, Swallowdale, Peter Duck and Winter Holiday (all in the same series); Monday Mourning; To Kill A Mockingbird (Clem, Kaylee and Annie recognised this); and up above is the play A View From The Bridge.
I was going to see if you recognised the second lot of books from my middle shelf, but seeing as how badly you did… maybe another time 
Other things going on in my life: had my first driving lesson today. Wasn’t actually too bad at it, will try for my test before the end of the year, probably in the summer. Would be nice to drive over the summer… if I got a car that worked, that is.
Also, have made a beeeyewtiful revision timetable for these holidays. Really have to s
tick to it, since I only have a week of study leave before my first four exams. Yes, four. Stats on a Wednesday afternoon, Physics and Music Thursday afternoon clash, so I’ll do both Physics in the morning and spend lunchtime in isolation, and then Mechanics on the Friday morning. Not much time, so I need to basically know everything this holiday. Will stille be blogging in the evenings and Sundays though, so I won’t disappear for a while yet.
Finally, I got sick of my long hair getting tangly and hot and heavy and ANNOYING, so on a whim I cut it (or rather my mother did). Will do something else with the fringe at some point, but I’m absolutely loving it right now. Short hair FTW!
